Most hotels have some shopping, if only a convenience store. La Samanna has several high end stores and Sapphire Beach Club has
Royal Caribbean Jewelers.
La Samanna has considerable watersports facilities and looks after its hotel guests on their section of Bay Long. Danny and the boys provide chairs, umbrellas, drinks, and BBQ on the northern end of Cupecoy Beach and Cliffhanger does the same at the southern end, but generally this is a laid back section of the island with no jet skis, parasailing, etc.
This could all change because of the construction, but there are no timeshares planned, parking is limited, and the beach is variable. The first major lodging unit to open, Rainbow Beach, is still working on the upper floor residences and the commercial areas through the start of high season 2007 AND they are now selling timeshares! The Cliff has opened and is quite lovely, although quite high.
